cadre Posted January 2, 2014 Share #202 Posted January 2, 2014 @saires The PATA port works fine with this build, but you have to replace the synoboot file within the repack v1.0 with Trantor's current version. http://xpenology.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1361&p=9464#p9464
ckchow2005 Posted January 3, 2014 Share #203 Posted January 3, 2014 Hi all, I also upgraded my HP N54L 6Gb ram from 4.2-3211 to 4.3-3810 repack 1.... No data lost with my one disk group in SHR and 2 separate non-raid HDD. Just needed to reinstall all the packages and re-do all the settings. No problem with additional USB3 card and WOL and Hiberation. However, I noticed the system seems slow in response time and I found that the 4.3 repack doesn't seem to take advantage of extra ram which could be used as cache, 4Gb is left when reviewing the system resource. Anyone has the same issue as me?
nols Posted January 3, 2014 Share #204 Posted January 3, 2014 This build works fine. My hardware: Gigabyte G33m-DS2R with 2x 1,5TB and 4x 500GB HDDs. Everything works 1-2 days and the i get an Internal Server Error 500 (DSM and Surveillance Station). AFP; NFS and CIFS works but i cant login via webbrowser. I have to restart, power off the system and then it works 1-2 days. Ther is an error in the webserver. But I have no idea.
Subtil Posted January 3, 2014 Share #205 Posted January 3, 2014 Hello All, Very very good job done by Trantor. I want to know if DSM 4.3 "synoboot-3810-pre-v1.1_v4" as stable as "XPEnology_DS3612xs_3810-repack-trantor-v1.0". Or if it's better to wait the official release of Synoboot-3810 v1.1 ? Thanks. Now this is a security issue. I have tried to remove WOL but all the box's are unchecked but wol is still on! anyway other way to turn it off or seeing what's turning it on by default? thanks Oh and this is on a N54L. I want to turn off WOL and turn it on when needed.

newbi Posted January 5, 2014 Share #213 Posted January 5, 2014 Thanks. That worked on Wan but not on Lan hmm If I use my phone\DS finder WOL doesn't work but if I use wireless in my home WOL does? I will go through it all again just in case I messed something up. Thanks again Update. If I contact the N54L from the out side by either DDNS or IP Wol is off and won't work yehhhhhh But when I'm at home and my phones wireless is used it turns on(both on the same network)? funny that as I tried using my IP using my phones 3G and that didn't work. I was getting the right Nic addy as I used a small Util that was posted here. What a strange thing.

I prepared a new USB-stick with v1.1 and rebootet the Server with it....anything else to be done (I could not find a .pat file for v1.1) Thanks for your help, msmn Hi,this update is only in the IMG (USB stick) which contains kernel, drivers and complex stuff, not in the PAT (DSM software side). So no need to get another one for 1.1.
DanielN Posted January 6, 2014 Share #217 Posted January 6, 2014 Does iSCSI targets work in this build? I can create an iSCSI LUN and it makes the file in @iSCSITrg, but I cannot create an iSCSI Target at all. I get the error: "Connection failed. Please check your network settings." gnoboot Posted January 6, 2014 Share #220 Posted January 6, 2014 The new iSCSI (LIO) currently is not enabled with Trantor's kernel build, but there's still a problem even if its enabled which I'm trying to figure out. To make iSCSI work, you have to change iscsi target type to IET in synoinfo.conf.
DanielN Posted January 6, 2014 Share #221 Posted January 6, 2014 Thanks... I wish I knew this before moving on from 4.2... my cluster is now dead (it only had test VM's) until this is enabled. Is there a discussion thread about iSCSI somewhere for the 4.3 build?
msmn Posted January 6, 2014 Share #222 Posted January 6, 2014 on my new N54L (with patched BIOS/Settings, including e.g. SATA: up to 3GB, AHCI,...) with 4 SATA HDDs i installed DSM 4.2 initially and had Transfer rates at 80-100 MB/sec (over several 100 GB!) Thereafter I upgraded to DSM 4.3 and now my Transfer rate is down to 40-50GB/sec (I didn´t Change nothing in the BIOS!) Even after a complete reset/new Installation of DSM 4.2, the Transfer rate is still "only" 40-50GB/sec.....during boot process I now spotted the following messages for all SATA Ports: "SATA max UDMA/133" respectively "configured for UDMA/133" Could anyone please support how to arrive back at the earlier Transfer rates? Thanks in advance msmn
DanielN Posted January 6, 2014 Share #223 Posted January 6, 2014 Did your BIOS get reset and you didn't know it? Check the settings again... From the main screen go to ‘Chipset > Southbridge Configuration > SB SATA Configuration’ and make sure your settings are the same as below: OnChip SATA Channel = Enabled SATA PORTS 4/5 IDE mode = Disabled SATA EPS on all PORT = Enabled SATA Power on all PORT = Enabled Return to the main screen then go to ‘Advanced > IDE Configuration’ and again, make sure your settings are the same as below. Embedded SATA Link Rate = 3.0Gbps MAX There's a thread where BIOS settings were getting reset on reboot: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1316&start=
