omar Posted August 19, 2017 Share #1 Posted August 19, 2017 So I thought Synology had to share their source code as they use some GNU licenced stuff. So why havent they done so so someone can make a proper xpenology 6.0 loader? I know there's Jun's loader but I dont really want to use that. So still stuck on 5.2 atm :/
0 ideasman69 Posted August 20, 2017 Share #2 Posted August 20, 2017 yeah why can't you make a "proper" loader? we're all waiting. the sense of entitlement from some people is baffling. Jun's loader is great and hasn't missed a beat - learn to show some respect to those who are doing this work for nothing.
0 UNSC-117 Posted August 20, 2017 Share #3 Posted August 20, 2017 Proper loader, can you make one no? they don't post don't use, buy yourself a real synology box. This thread should be delete
0 Polanskiman Posted August 21, 2017 Share #4 Posted August 21, 2017 First off, there is nothing forcing Synology to release its source code at a specified timeframe. They are forced to do it but they do so whenever it pleases them and there is nothing wrong with that. For your information though, Synology released the source code for 6.0 and 6.1. It can be found here: DSM 6.0: https://sourceforge.net/projects/dsgpl/files/Synology NAS GPL Source/8451branch/ DSM 6.1: https://sourceforge.net/projects/dsgpl/files/Synology NAS GPL Source/15047branch/ Now, I am not entirely sure what brought you to think that there is no proper loader available. There is one and it works just fine and it is based on actual DSM 6.0 source code. If you don't want to use the loader then that's your choice but please have a closer read at the forum before posting misleading information. I am closing this topic.
