I have compiled hpsa.ko and add on to the extra.lzma. I have maked the Usb Key

The server boot on the usb key... I have access to the wizard to install dsm I select the 2 disk but the install stop with error 35 : failed to format the disk.

Could You help me to solve this problem ?

I had a similar issue. I found that removing all drives except the one where the system partition uses during the setup wizard allowed the install to finish. Then once the system boots successful, add the additional drives and create your volumes. I can't tell you why this worked, but I saw this on three different servers I built, all different models.

Hi cseb,

Could you share your extra.lzma with the hpsa.ko driver?

I'm in need of the same drivers for my HP DL360 G7

Thanks

With jun's loader and the HPSA module added to the extra.lzma the server boots but the drive is not recognised correctly with 'Capacity read failed' in the var/log/message.

I try to use the 5.2 version and that's work perfectly...

Could U help me to solve this pb.

I have made a new and update tutorial for install/upgrade DSM 5.2 to 6.1.3. The custom ramdisk linked in the tutorial is the one from @IG-88

this one works, both the network cards and the SAS controller are recognized.

but then i get the same error as @cseb

error 35 : failed to format the disk.

and this suggestion from @mckaycr doesn't work.

next step will be trying a differen hard drive, becuase right now i'm using the original 10k SAS drives.

If all else fails i'll  replace the sas controller with on that support JBOD

the disk is discovered but something was wrong : READ CAPACITY FAILED

Someone thinks this is a confict between CISS and HPSA.

But no idea to resolve this issue.

I tryed xpeno 5.2 and it's worked fine.
