Thanks! thats not the way it works, you cant just use a single drive for the system the thing that comes from just one point is the usb stick image, it kind of replaces the bootloader (flash) in the synology, the system is a raid1 distributed over all disks in the system, every disk you put and "initialize" gets 2 partitions for the system (~2,4GB for the system and 2GB swap) the rest is used for volumes you can create so even if you start with a single ssd, by addind more disks every disk will contain the system, its mdadm at work, as long as one disk is in the system it still should boot Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
