thegrim11 Posted June 18, 2017 Share #1 Posted June 18, 2017 Hello. I have an old dell inspiron 560 that has a pentium dual core e5500 and 4gb of RAM. I've tried using Juns loader v1.02b and it sticks at booting kernel and nothing happens and cannot find it on find.synology. I've tried using xpenoboot 5.2 with 5.2 builds but it installs and then reboots to the drive and i get grub rescue and get error: no such partition. sbv3000 Posted June 19, 2017 Share #2 Posted June 19, 2017 I've installed 5.2 on a friends old dell (not your model though) so there is a good chance it should work. Id suggest deleting all the partitions on the drive, check the sata mode and try ide/ahci (if in the bios), check the boot order, disable booting from anything except the usb. Also disable any unnecessary devices, like the sound card, ports etc.
