After installation and when I tried to create Volumes, it under creating a RAID 5 Array, I found that it is not allowing me to create more than one Volume.

Is this a limitation or am doing something wrong.

In my Raid Array I've 4 HDDs of 3 Tb each.

Can anyone help...

Regards

During installation of DSM it will ask you if you wish to do an install for only one volume, or to select an option allowing multiple volumes to be used. It's during the early steps just after you have completed the basic install and gone back into DSM and selected you username if I recall.

If you used all of your disks to create the volume, then you can only have 1 volume. Think of a volume as a collection of hard drives rather than a share.

Hi

I found the solution in Synology Help documents.

It says that while creating a Raid Array, select option 2 : Multiple Volumes for Raid 5.
