heyredy141 Posted October 30, 2013 Share #1 Posted October 30, 2013 Hello All, I am new to this forum and I just got word of XPEnology. I am in the process of building MINI ITX NAS Server and bought below software. Initially I was thinking of running FreeNas on it but now that I know XPEnology exists I would rather use that. I looked up these forums and confirmed that my chipset (Intel NM70) and LAN chipset (Realtek RTL8111F) are supported on the latest 4.2 builds. I was wondering if my processor (Intel Celeron 847 1.1GHz 2C/2T) is supported as well. Please find below my hardware and kindly let me know if everything would work with latest 4.2 build. 1) BitFenix Prodigy Mini-ITX Tower Computer Case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6811345017 2) BIOSTAR NM70I-847 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813138368 3) Crucial 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6820148347 4) LEPA MX-F1 N400-SB 400W ATX Power Supply http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6817494013 5) Western Digital Red NAS 3 TB Hard Drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6822236344 Thanks in advance for answering my question. Also, is there a thorough guide on how to go about with the installation?
Rand__ Posted October 30, 2013 Share #2 Posted October 30, 2013 In general - the Celeron is just another x86 (or 64) chip as all the others too, no reason why it wouldnt work. The most important thing is chipset and if you have checked that - fine:) You wont bee needing a 400W power supply though; with that setup you could go lower than 200W (check Silent PCReview for options), but I'd really recommend to get at least a 80+ (Gold Level if possible , eg Seasonic 300W) PSU if you're keeping it running 24/7 And check viewtopic.php?f=2&t=17 here, that should cover the basics. heyredy141 Posted October 30, 2013 Author Share #3 Posted October 30, 2013 Thanks Rand for that. I will consider your opinions. PSU is one thing I regret in my build. May be I will change that. I picked it in a rush.
