Installing DSM 6+ on ESXi 6.5

Hi all,

I've posted several times, without any reply. I do really hope, that someone will answer this thread then.

Issue:

I've been following this thread, viewtopic.php?f=2&t=20216, and used OVF template from https://mega.nz/#!Agt00ZDT!lN5blyZc4gMa ... i9bF6ZBnY0

Then I power up the VM, and finds the DSM installation webinterface

However, it keeps rebooting / reinstalling, after it says "we've found your old harddrives"

I'm stuck here. Adding serial port (found in the thread linked to) didn't help.

I really hope that someone can help me out, getting DSM 6+ alive.

Thanks

During loader startup did you switch to ESXI option? Its the last one in grub menu. Also you can try to build new VM from scratch, just use hard drive from OVF template.

From my experience testing, selecting the ESXI/VMware option causes the VM to not see any of the disks. Leaving it on the default works fine in VMware.

Yes , fresh 3615XS  6.1.6 on ESXI 6.5.0 update 1 free. Didnt notice there was a vmware feature in the grub. So it is running without it and seems ok so far. I had issues with the 3617 (not appearing on ethernet).
