smileyworld Posted May 14 #1 Posted May 14 Overview The creator shares an alarming discovery regarding Synology's product PDFs. A user submitted evidence showing that Synology has silently edited technical documentation for NAS devices after publication, reducing product capabilities. This potentially raises legal and ethical concerns around misrepresentation. Changing Product Specifications Original PDFs listed higher limits (e.g., 128 iSCSI targets). Updated PDFs list reduced limits (e.g., just 2 iSCSI targets). This was observed for DS923+ and DS224+ models. If this is true, then it seems like Synology is trying to scare away as many customers as possible. Quote
polanskiman Posted May 29 #2 Posted May 29 This would need to be corroborated by others. Those files he received from a "user" could have very well been edited by that user or someone else. Those changes are just too big IMO. Looks suspicious. 1 Quote
