Best Hardware for new server ?

Good Evening 

  what are good compatible hardware to build new server for DSM 7.2 ?

 

U have spare Ryzen 5600x 

32 GB DDR4 sitting on side can I build off that ? 

 

I will be using for VM, Media Server, File Backups, Photo, Video and VPN server.

It depends on how many VMs you will use and what for.

I have an old Xeon 1240L v3 (4c - 8T), 32Gb of ram, 10x 1TB HDD and DSm 7.2 with SA6400 model. I have one VM (windows 10) for test only and a LUN for storage. It works like a charm for me.

I know hardware will support few low lvl VMs 

My concern was compatibility with new AMD CPU and rams. And drivers if any needed for on board network card. 

Or I should have asked If this hardware supported by loader or DSM7.2?
