Machine down. How to Reinstall DS918+ 6.2/6.2.1

Hi there, I am new to this forum. I have been using the NAS for a few years but couldn’t boot into the system recently (moderate change of hardware e.g. unplug and replug). My hardwares been using are:

CPU: i5 7400

Motherboard: Asrock H110M-HDS

RAM: same

HDD: Segate x6

Couldn’t find the IP in router at all. It once show up to instal system (but I definitely been using it for long). Tried (re)install but it sticks overnight. It freezes at the “Screen will stop updating shortly, please open http://find.synology.com to…”

Could anyone suggest solutions? Shall I reinstall the 6.2 on a new USB, or make a 7.2 USB?

If there is not an app that only works on 6.2 that you currently use, I would say update to 7.2.

There have been some great improvements since version 6 that are very useful, and security updates that are not available with the older software.

Peter Suh's M-SHELL would be a great way to do the update.

The other loader would be the ARPL found here:

Look at lights of network card. After screen freezes, this lights turn off. If they do not turns on after 2 minutes, the driver is not been loaded. If so, I suggest you build a new loader with SA6400 model and DSM 7.2. This model is far more flexible in drivers. I had 3622xs+ with 7.1 working fine, but after update to 7.2 my network cards (I have 3) stops. Peter Suh recommended to migrate to SA6400 to try and all my network cards went on.

As far as I know, there not much differences between models besides number of bays. On my SA6400 I have storage LUN working, a VMM working and shared folder working. And for the record, I have 10x 1TB disks and 1x 2TB disks on one box.
