Jas C Posted November 29 Share #1 Posted November 29 (edited) Hi all champions, need ur help. My xpenology setting is: Server: HPE Microsever Gen10 Plus DS918+ as VM on my VMware ESX 6.8 server with 4 disks running as SHR Bootloader: RR 24.11.13 It was running all good on DSM 7.2.1-69057 Update 6. And I tried to upgrade it to DSM 7.2.2, it failed and I can't even get the DSM 7.2.1 restored. what I did for the upgrading was: 1. booted to RR bootloader 2. chose version: 7.2 → 7.2.2-72806, anything else kept intact. 3. chose Build the loader 4. Boot the loader And then I got the web assistant GUI, and I chose Migrate → Retain system config → Auto Download 7.2.2-72806, and it failed at 60ish%. Error msg was like: Failed to install DSM, Failed to download the DSM installation file. Please check the network connection and try again. And I tried to manual upload from local PAT file, same error. So, I gave up, and decided to roll back to 7.2.1. and After I changed the config of RR to version 7.2.1, and went to the web assistant. and tried to install the PAT file. I got the same error. Now I am kinda stuck, and no idea how to get my DS918 VM back to work again. Any help or hints are really really appreciated. many many thanks. Jas C Posted November 29 Author Share #3 Posted November 29 haha, problem resolved. it turned out /dev/md0 partition running out of space. In my case, it worked after I cleaned up, and made 690M available space. and it worked. In terms of how to access the NAS, and delete files, please refer to the url below. https://gugucomputing.wordpress.com/2023/12/13/how-to-escape-from-failed-to-install-dsm-available-system-space-is-insufficient-or-similar-messages/
