Hibernation fails because of "kernel: [...] synobios get empty ttyS current" error messages"

Hello,

I have installed DSM 7.2.2-72806 using ARC on a Futro S920 using a DSM723+ image.

Gernerally, it is working fine. However, hibernation (Ruhezustand) of the HDD does not work.

I investigated what is happening and found the following message regularly in /var/log/messages:

2024-10-22T07:25:43+02:00 SynoTest kernel: [ 130.859306] synobios get empty ttyS current
2024-10-22T07:26:44+02:00 SynoTest kernel: [ 192.018746] synobios get empty ttyS current
2024-10-22T07:27:45+02:00 SynoTest kernel: [ 252.895842] synobios get empty ttyS current
2024-10-22T07:28:46+02:00 SynoTest kernel: [ 313.770127] synobios get empty ttyS current

Same in kern.log.

The futro has 3 serial ports, disabling them does not help.

I found the issue also in this forum for tinycore redpill, but no solution.

Has anyone an idea, what to try next, please?

Kind regards, Tomte

Hello,

I disabled all serial ports in the BIOS and got rid of this issue after a reinstall.

Now I still have:

2024-10-23T20:15:32+02:00 SynoTest kernel: [ 3763.357068] Cannot get i2c adapter
2024-10-23T21:15:33+02:00 SynoTest kernel: [ 7365.187621] Cannot get i2c adapter

Has anyone an idea of how to fix this?

In the BIOS, I switched all peripherals off, which I am not using, like:

- UEFI Network Stack

- Sound card

- high precision timer

- parallel port

- all serial ports

Hibernation looks good. No log entries now for hours.
