ttjrm1 Posted October 9, 2024 #4 Posted October 9, 2024 I have come across your post reference getting DSM 7.1.1 onto my old DS412+ using the .pat file from a DS1513+ in order to get the latest firmware. I have followed your instructions but unfortunately at about 59% whilst installing the DSM, the install gives an error stating 'Unable to complete install, the file may be corrupted'. Were there any additional steps you took to mitigate this? I have been able to install the .pat from DS713+ (only 2 disks available) and the .pat from RS814+ (unable to update past 7.0.1 Update 4, due to an additional patch is required). I would be very grateful for any help you can offer. Also could you kindly send you pdf as it is unavailable using the above link. Thank you kindly Quote
fishcake274 Posted October 11, 2024 #5 Posted October 11, 2024 Same issue as above, says "Failed to install the file. The file is probably corrupted. (13)" Quote

Smirn74 Posted December 28, 2024 #8 Posted December 28, 2024 Bonjour, Quelqu'un a t'il réussi? j'ai aussi l'erreur "Failed to install the file. The file is probably corrupted. (13)" Merci pour votre aide Quote
DSfuchs Posted December 28, 2024 #9 Posted December 28, 2024 (edited) Of course, the files are not broken. DSM 7.1 uses a different partitioning scheme. The migration steps provided by the manufacturer cannot simply be skipped. The whole thing requires two drives, unless you're a crack user. If previous appropriate actions have created other conditions, it can also work by chance, as with the TO. If you start with without any data to transfer, you can do it without an additional hard drive. All you need to do is to copy 4 files online from the DS1513+ pat file to the DOM. With SHR or RAID5/6, you can't manage without a completely new and larger set of hard drives. In this case, the transfer can only be done using the unload-reload procedure.
