Cyberflow Posted August 4, 2024 #1 Posted August 4, 2024 Hi all, I'm totally new to the XPEnology world, i've got right now 2 computer rigs sleeping and with a few external 4-Bay eSata cases for hard drives. I was wondering how can i check for compatibility to see if i can make DSM work with my hardware ? I've got a PCIe 4 port eSata Raid controller card (https://eshop.macsales.com/item/NewerTech/MXPCIE6GRS4E/?fullDetails&customer-reviews) that connects all 4 of my 4 bay external boxes. Is there a way to validate compatibility ? Thank you in advance ! Quote
0 Peter Suh Posted August 5, 2024 #2 Posted August 5, 2024 The compatibility is detailed in the specs below. The Marvell chipset is compatible with Synology. One thing I'm disappointed with is that the OS compatibility is centered around MacOS, not Linux. And the port multiplier means port sharing, and there may be variables as to whether all 4 ports can work. The best way to check compatibility is to contact the manufacturer directly. 1 Quote
