Sats2 Posted June 16, 2024 #1 Posted June 16, 2024 New to the forum, hobbyist in electronics and computers since the 70s, US Air Force trained, 11 year veteran, another 11 years as a civilian Computer technician installer for a civilian company in Milwaukee, WS. Retired now, but still actively building Desktops. This is my first crack at NAS building, seems like there's lots to consume. I ready to learn, want to build a setup like commercially made and bought NASes that connect to your routers and are able to broadcast with in your personal network. Currently, bought a Fractal Node304 case with a Biostar X370GTN mobo with RYZEN 3-2200G Processor and 16 gig 3200 ram, 500gig M2-NVME SSD. Got four 12tb drives and 2 4tb drives in it. Wish me luck! 4 Quote

Peter Suh Posted June 18, 2024 #3 Posted June 18, 2024 (edited) Nice to meet you. I am the developer of the TCRP-mshell REDPILL bootloader. The XPE you are trying to build has similar specifications to the second XPE shown in my profile. 2) Xpenology RedPill DS1823xs+ FRIEND DSM 7.2.1-69057 Update 3, Asus Prime A320i-k ITX / Ryzen 2200G / r8169 LAN x 1 / 16GB / SilverStone ECS07 M.2 NVME PCIE 5 Port Sata / 6 x 3TB RAID6 / Fractal Design Node 304 Also, I don't know which loader you will choose, but you can also use the bootloader image below, which is linked in my profile. https://github.com/PeterSuh-Q3/tinycore-redpill/releases One piece of advice: Successful installation of XPE begins with the response of the NIC. I don't know what NIC chipset your Biostar X370GTN MOBO has, but I hope it's compatible. Edited June 18, 2024 by Peter Suh 1 Quote
