Is there a work around about sata hub ports instead of purchase more PCI-e cards?

when "sata hub" is sata multiplier (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Port_multiplier)  (i guess so) then no there is no use option in DSM as synology has disabled that and we use the kernel of the original systems

you could still use "non appliance" NAS systems like open media vault, that would have "normal" kernel  configurations and would support that (even when from a performance point its not a good option for raid systems)
