hidroela Posted March 1, 2017 Share #1 Posted March 1, 2017 Hi and thanks for those involved in this project. i already asked this on two different threads but not luck on getting a replies jet i have been running a bare metal system running with 4 HD for some time but now i need to expand to more HD i just got a SYBA PCI-Express sata with 4 extra port. on first setup the software see it and let me mount a HD and add to it files and such, but after i reboot the box just doesn't show it anymore. i can not find anything related to it using the search function. now I am seeing the possibility to upgrade the box completely with mb cpu and memory. if i just could make that pci card to work, would save me some money. any help would be appreciated
toseeme Posted March 2, 2017 Share #2 Posted March 2, 2017 Looks like your PCI-E card is not compateable with DSM. I am using the PCI-E card connect two HD in DSM 6. As mentioned from other geeker, you need a DSM compatiable PCI-E card. Check those informaiton google, you may find the right one.

SyncGuy Posted March 5, 2017 Share #4 Posted March 5, 2017 Hi, I'm just curious, is your SYBA/IOCrest card model SE9235 or SE9215? From my understanding, your ASRock j1900 mobo only has PCIE2.0 x1, which should only be compatible with SE9215 because SE9235 is PCIE2.0 x2? Having said that, I believe you would need the SYBA/IOCrest SE9215. I'm using it with no issues.. on DSM 5.2 still though, if that matters. sbv3000 Posted March 11, 2017 Share #6 Posted March 11, 2017 afaik the marvell 9215 chipset is part of the v6 bootloader (I've not tested myself but its a popular chipset). I've used this card in several DSM 5.x setups and it works ok. Unless you need DSM 6 features you could go with 5.2 until 6 is more compatible? Also, in the DSM 6 threads there is mention of the sataportmap configuration , you might need to read up on that and tweak that for your add on card
