Drivers requests for DSM 5.2

I would like to request the Winbond w83627ehf kernel module for my fan/temp control on the Thecus N7700pro NAS. I have 5.2 DSM running on it now and everything work except the temp/fan control.

 

I do know that loading this module on other small *nix systems required me to add "acpi_enforce_resources=lax" to the APPEND line on the boot

 

and this allowed it to work..

I'd like to ask for a Fintek F71808A Super I/O kernel driver for controlling the fan/temp on my motherboard MSI H61i-E35 (B3). After reading some posts about enabling fan control in DSM, I have installed ipkg (for bash, perl, mktemp and lm-sensors) and followed THIS GUIDE, but it turns out that "lm-sensors" doesn't play nice with my Super I/O chip, so fans are running at 100% constantly :sad:

As you can see, "sensors" command did not show any info about my Super I/O, so I ran "sensors-detect".

Some systems (mainly servers) implement IPMI, a set of common interfaces
through which system health data may be retrieved, amongst other things.
We first try to get the information from SMBIOS. If we don't find it
there, we have to read from arbitrary I/O ports to probe for such

If you have some drivers built into your kernel, the list above will

It did find my Super I/O chip, but the note says: "there is no driver for Fintek F71808A Super IO Sensors yet". Of course, that meant that 'pwmconfig' command would fail.

As I am new to all this stuff, would someone please point me in the right direction. Can this kernel driver be added? Should I compile the kernel myself (I have never done that and I cannot find any easy-to-follow instructions)?

 

Please help, the fan noise is driving me insane.

Hi

 

vultr.com VPS provides you the option to upload a custom ISO when setting up a new VPS. All works well but the system is not detecting the HDD drives.

 

I am not sure what hardware it is but they do include a link to download the Drivers for Windows if it will help.

Quick question, I just looked into the driver list, seems that no AMD based PATA support exist in Xpe?

My mobo is using AMD 880G chipset, I don't want to waste the SATA port, and I would like to use the PATA port to connect an IDE drive as temp volume for downloader, will this be included in future release?

First off thank you to you and all the other dev's for the excellent work to date. I hope you can offer your expertise on how to use the HP P420I in HBA mode rather than individual disks in RAID 0 as I then lose the smart info.

My problem is that the hpsa driver included in the latest version of 5644 works if I configure a single raid 0 disk but then I lose all of the smart info and random disk numbers are assigned. When I set it to HBA mode DSM installation just says no hard disks found. Can you please assist. Also I am unable to login using the ssh/telnet password calculator to even see if the disk is being detected within dsm.

Trantor, just an info please, i use tbs dvb drivers compiled on version 5592 on xpe boot 5592.

 

Its possible to update to last 5.2 veraion and have dvb working or latest xpe boot doesent havr dvb eabled?

 

Many users complain about this... I just bought a PCTV nanoStick DVB-T adapter to clear this out.

I read on VMware forums that some users have the same issue as you. They update driver and firmware to fix it.

Try to update the firmware, the hpsa driver will be updated to the latest in next build.

Trantor, im not complaining, im just asking, because ai dont update from version 5592 just for dvb. I dont know if works or not.i think i read something about last versions dvb was disabled, but i didns try.

Folowing the steps fron dvb thread i compiled modules for tbs (closed and open source), and it work very well. And im wiling to help anyone who needs modules for tbs cards and for the ones that use opensource drivers ljalves ones.

I updated the firmware as I suspected the same, but it didn't help. When you say the next build, do you mean another xpenology update for DSM 5 or wait until DSM 6 sources are made available by the vendor in a few months time hopefully?
