Hi Trantor ,

What would be the driver for the mellanox 2 VPI card ? Is it in the infiniband 2 file that you prepared in an other thread?

How to configure to load the driver for it automatically?

Much thanks

What's exactly the name/type of your card ?

Hi Trantor,

The card is " Mellanox ConnectX-2 VPI Dual-Port 40GB Adapter Card HCA-30024 700Ex2-Q"

Much thanks!

Sorry no time to look for compiling DVB support

I wonder, does the driver have a compile time option for MSI/MSI-X?

No option/parameter when compiling this driver

Hi Trantor,

Ist it possible to integrate the driver for the pctv 461e?

Unfortunately the Stick is working with Video Station but not working with DVB Link in the newest version.

The DVB Link Support team says, that there is a bad driver.

System:

HP microserver gen 8

Bare metall installation

Latest version of XPenology

Hi Trantor,

Could you please include the tun kernel module in XPEnoboot? I got ZeroTier One to install and run, but without that kernel module its a little useless

Also, are the sources for XPEnoboot available for our own tinkering? ... as per GPL?

Thanks

I will look for the tun module.

The only sources I have are those from synology gpl. So I can't compil a working kernel nor edit the ramdrive.

Only the dev team have the patched sources.

Cool, thanks. As soon as you do, and I'm able to fully test ZeroTier One, I'll post a script that enables anyone else to install it without having to go through all the hoops that I did.

Hi Trantor, would help add or explain how to add support for SATA for the VIA VX900 chipset for XPEnology. I am currently working on GnoBoot 10.5. I could not run Synology or on Nanoboot or also XPEnoboot in any version. It did not detect HDD. I work on HP Thin Client T5550 / T5565. Regards.

Hi everyone, i have a little question about hyper-v and xpenology's storage manager..

I'm running a VM on hyper-v server 2012 r2, i use XPEnoboot 5.2-5592.2 and DSM 5.2-5592 Update 2

Opening "Storage Manager" i can see my three hard drives, it populates the fields model, manufacturer, status, 4k, and size but it does not show firmware, serial, temperature and S.M.A.R.T.

http://s8.postimg.org/korxvudw5/Immagine.png

In Hyper-V I load the drives via virtual SCSI controller in pass-through mode, physical hw is a standard HP N54L running the last modified BIOS and the optimal setting that were specified on xpenology.nl

I'd like to view those informations and i was wondering if the "problem" may be due to a missing\damaged driver

Any help is appreciated!

PS: thank you so much for this awesome project!!!

You really should have started a new thread for this. I actually signed up to tell you that. Secondly to answer your question, if they are VHDs there is no smart or serial data. If you are using pass through disks, they are still virtual inside that environment and not passed on to the guest. The host OS takes care of the actual hardware.

When you use XPEnoboot bootloader did you find your system with Synology Assistant ? If yes it's says NO HDD ?

VIA VX900 is handle by sata_via which is included and the lan part by via-velocity which is included (but not loaded in my VM setup).

Thanks for your interest in the topic.

So it is, Synology Assitant says that there is no HDD (not visible) by the application, and through the browser. I compared the driver files from GnoBoot and XPEnology by logging WinSCP, versions of the driver appear to be the same (v2.6), but the files "sata_via.ko" have a different size. Another diffrenece is that GnoBoot found file "pata_via.ko" , wchich XPEnology didn't found. Any suggestions what to check next?

Added:

VIA chipsets have previous generation controller PATA / SATA Southbridge. In this solution one north-VX900 (multi-bridge) that handles everything. So maybe GnoBoot uses a different driver?

Module size is not relevant because 5.1 modules use kernel 3.2.40 and 5.2 use 3.10.35.

I think you found the source for your issue. Maybe VX900 support is not in sata_via but in pata_via.

I will try to find some time to compil it

EDIT : Here https://download.xpenology.fr/drivers/pata_via.ko

Copy it to /lib/modules/ and insmod it.

I'm afraid that if it detect your drive it didn't survive a reboot...

  • 2 weeks later...

I'm having a lot of trouble getting this one compiled

http://www.highpoint-tech.com/BIOS_Driv ... _24.tar.gz

downloaded the source and toolchain and make cross_compile=toolchain kerneldir=source/linux-3.10.x

but nothing happens, i think there might be something wrong with the driver package, but i could be doing something really stupid.

if anybody has some tips or a vm to cross compile for 5.2 that would be great

Same warning has before (viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1361&hilit=rocketraid&start=580#p42804), unload mvsas module before loading rr2680.ko !

Thanks a lot.

Your network card is handled by the intel i40e driver : https://downloadcenter.intel.com/downlo ... der-Linux-

It's not included but I will try to find some time to compil it

Hi Trantor, I did some tests and fumbled on the Web and in fact the problem is the lack of driver "pata_via.ko" in bootloader XPEnobot. Unfortunately, upload it through the "insmod" falls off. This command is not possible for the hard disk that must be handled by the bootloader before it loads the system of Synology. And of course, does not hold reset.

Helpful info from wiki:

https://ata.wiki.kernel.org/index.php/Pata_via

https://ata.wiki.kernel.org/index.php/Sata_via

"This driver also supports the SATA controllers in IDE mode included with the VIA chipsets listed:

CX700 (1.5GB / s) VX700 (3Gb / s) VX800 (3Gb / s) VX900 (3Gb / s)"

Thus, the request to add the driver "pata_via.ko" to the next release XPEnology. I do not know whether to write to Sancome whether it is your part in the project, ie. drivers.

PS. unless there is a description of how to compile drivers for Bootlader XPEnology.

Hi everyone.

I am new here, and not sure how to ask it, but is there a way for you to add another driver to XPEnology?

The driver is for the PCTV Triplestick 292e. There's is a linux driver availaible here, i hope that it may give you some clue for the integration to the system.

Thank you for the great job you are doing for our NAS!!!
