htpcdude Posted January 25, 2014 Share #276 Posted January 25, 2014 Hello, I am running DSM 4.3-3810 - v1.1 Beta 4. I would like to try Beta 5 but I don't want to loose my configuration. Is there a way to get the new .pat file over to my Beta 4 installation? TIA, Update: Followed procedure from viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1086&p=8501&hilit=downgrade+to+4.2#p8501 to trick the system to do a migration to DSM 4.3-3810 - v1.1 Beta 5 No loss of data but some loss of configuration. Trantor Posted January 26, 2014 Author Share #280 Posted January 26, 2014 The module is loaded, we can see eth2 and eth3 interfaces on your picture. Type : ifconfig eth2 up You can edit /etc/rc.local and add : insmod /lib/modules/qlcnic.ko to load module at boot.
snoopy78 Posted January 26, 2014 Share #281 Posted January 26, 2014 Hi Trantor, i just found the cause... the NIC has 2x 10GBe interfaces and my connection was the 2nd one (should be eth3) but only the 1st port (eth2) was enabled... now i switched from eth3 to eth2 and got connection. Maybe in future releases you can add the 2nd port, or make an install not.. going to test now and then report to you THX & BR snoopy78
Trantor Posted January 26, 2014 Author Share #282 Posted January 26, 2014 This module is the one found in 3.2.40 kernel not the latest version. Of course in next build I will include the latest one which I hope fix your issue. I looking forward to know the bandwidth

Deynet Posted January 27, 2014 Share #285 Posted January 27, 2014 Hello, are the drivers for the N54L onboard eSata Port Multiplier already integrated or is a PCI-E eSata with another Port Multiplier supported Chipset necessary? elmuziko Posted February 4, 2014 Share #291 Posted February 4, 2014 Hi Trantor, First off, massive thanks for the whole build really. Using a HP N54L and DSM has made one hell of a difference to the way I work at home, so much so I'm slowly by surely fazing out all MS crap in my house. Anyway, rather than ask you to compile drivers for me for a part I haven't bought yet, I wondered if there was already a PCI SATA expansion card set of drivers available? I have an ICY dock in which I'd like to add an additional 6 2.5" drives, that can only be achieved by adding an expansion card. Also, again so as to not trouble you, I Google'd adding drivers to a Synology and found the below. Is it really that easy? Because if so I'm happy to do this myself, and I'm sure armed with this info most others are. For the people intersted in how i got it compiled. first we need to get the package manager ipkg to work: INSTALLING IPKG -open dsm package center and add the package source http://packages.quadrat4.de -refresh -install bootstrap installer to get ipkg. -reboot,wait until the beep check that the nas is still fine -enable ssh client in the dsm by clicking on terminal and check ssh. -use http://www.putty.org/ to ssh on port 22 into your nas. -login as 'root' with your admin password defined in dsm. GET BUILD ENVIRONMENT now you are ready to get the build environment ready: -execute 'ipkg update'(update should be succefull) -'ipkg install make' to get the buildtool make -'ipkg install gcc' to get the c compiler gcc DOWNLOAD AND COMPILE SOURCES -download your source files for your hardware. -put it somewhere on your nas. -via putty 'cd /volume1/' -now make sure your ssh location is in the folder where Makefile is located -execute 'make' Your driver is now compiled for the Synology. AtriosM3 Posted February 5, 2014 Share #292 Posted February 5, 2014 Hi Trantor, Excellent work with XPEnology project! Loving it. I wanted to ask if you could add the driver for RocketRAID 2640x4 controller? RocketRAID 2640x4 controller driver location I tried using the DSM 5.0 beta build that you compiled with the RocketRAID controller, however my 4 HDDs connected to the controller were not being recognized by DSM. I am using Intel S5000XVN MB. When I disconnect the HDDs from the RocketRAID controller and reconnect to the MB, DSM recognizes the HDD (well except one, but that's another story, troubleshooting for another night :-/ ) Thoughts, anyone? Thank you. ~Atrio

sinnuendo Posted February 6, 2014 Share #295 Posted February 6, 2014 Hi Kelly689 Yes, that motherboard works great and is supported. I am currently running it with Trantors build. Never breaks into a sweat, lots of CPU horse power with the 8 cores, if anything too much. Could also use the C2550 quad core version Cheers
