Salah Posted January 6, 2017 Share #1 Posted January 6, 2017 Hello all, I have been using Juns loader on some spare dell 790s we retired.Works great btw, no issues, great box for use. The question I have for one of you ESXi guys is this: I want to use esxi on the 790's (as I have done on one), using an older retired server as ISCSI target for boot loader as well as main syno drive. What I cant seem to get figured out is the VID/PID bit of cfg. file. No matter what I do I cant seem to get past error 13. can someone point me? chege Posted January 6, 2017 Share #2 Posted January 6, 2017 (edited) You dont have to set vid/pid under esxi. You have to setup all drive but boot drive as SATA drive. Edited January 6, 2017 by Guest
Salah Posted January 6, 2017 Author Share #3 Posted January 6, 2017 just seemed to have missed SATA part.
Salah Posted January 6, 2017 Author Share #4 Posted January 6, 2017 Still no go. Get to 56% and get error 13 and into migrate.
Salah Posted January 6, 2017 Author Share #5 Posted January 6, 2017 Well it seem that iscsi target is an issue as it installed just fine on local exsi data store.
chege Posted January 9, 2017 Share #6 Posted January 9, 2017 Dont know why youre having issues with iscsi target. Im having up and running dsm 6.0 on iscsi target under esxi 6. iscsi lun is from baremetal dsm 5.2.
