I wanted to ask few questions about redpill loader.
1. it is worth it to run it on BareMetal?
2. is it reliable for basic tasks?
3. Whats yours experience with DSM7 on BareMetal?
Some background info:
i used Juns loader BareMetal DSM 6 for maybe year or so, with absolutely no problems really liked it, inspired me to someday buy real synology, chosing between some of the better ones when i save up some money, this NAS system is Awesome!
I tried DSM 7 RedPill on VMs, Oracle virtual box, ProxMox, was testing camera recordings from survailance station, multiple users downloading some files at once, Raid funcionality, just basic stuff, and it runs Awesome. Everything is working great BUT only tried the VMs.
So in reality the question is should i migrate my old NAS DSM6 to DSM7?
on my DSM6 i use only basic functions:
-Synology Moments (backing up photos from Phone)
-General Backing up Files manualy
-Plex
-Camera Recording for my home door camera
2x 1TB Raid 1
3x 250gb HDD Raid5
1x old ssd for speedup but never noticed difference
it is old PC i had around 12years picking dust, gave it second life.
