Automated RedPill Loader (ARPL)

I will program to automatically add both misc and acpid addons

Just FYI, I tested DVA1622 on my Proxmox, but the acpid arpl installed did not work on that build (dva1622). I had the same issue in TCRP and DS3622xs+ (my production build I am using daily). I had to use another acpid for 3622 under tcrp for it to work. I have not tested it with ARPL, but the acpid I used with @pocopico tcrp on 3622 (thanks to @dodo-dk)

./rploader.sh ext broadwellnk-7.1.0-42661 add https://raw.githubusercontent.com/dodo-dk/rp-ext/main/acpid/rpext-index.json

Again I have not tested this with ARPL, just saying this was the only acpid that would shutdown my DS3622xs+ loader made with TCRP when I hit shutdown in Proxmox.

@vbap Is it correct that the build in NIC is now working with the new modules? I couldn't test it. This would be great news, because older versions of the loader causes kernel panic loading the NIC driver.

Yes, the built-in NIC is working (actually both are working, and the loader ignores the iLO NIC). I chose model 3622xs+ and used realmac option.

I do have a performance issue in that backing up another NAS to this one, via Active Backup Agent (beta), is very slow, as if the throughput is throttled to 100mb instead of 1Gb (Overnight transferred only 13GB of data). This is only with Active Backup Agent though - if I transfer a file from the other NAS to this one (eg 5GB ISO image) via File Station remote mount,  it is fast - only a minute or so). So I suspect it is something else, maybe on the other NAS or the Active Backup application.

2nd issue is getting VMM working (fails to create cluster). VMM works on the other NAS (created via tcrp as an ESXi VM) but not on this baremetal setup. I have removed all the *example.com synoinfo entries but still not working.

A little frustrated at this build. i have tried the new v0.3-alpha7.img also tested the older v0.2-alpha5.img this works without the This works without LSI on the newer image. on the older image where you can chose mpt3sas it does not load at all. So does anyone know if 920 can work with LSI or if I mis read the forums

DS920+ is a Device-tree(DT) model, and DT models only work with SATA disks! This is a technical limit of the DSM kernel, unresolved so far.

Hi all !
On the last two versions, I noticed such oddity. After a shutdown and some idle time, the system shows that it is not installed. If you just reboot, then everything is fine. Nobody noticed this? True, I did not clean the system disk, but only the installation flash drive.

Thanks for the report.

A little more testing removed chelsio T420 and installed intel x520

The server has onboard LSI 9300 in IT mode

I successfully install but when I check the drives something strange shows up

@fbelavenuto Great thanks to your great work and contribution!! For me it has been by far the loader with the fewest tries, guesses and errors...

However, I noticed that it's not possible to change the MTU size for the NICs to support Jumbo Frames. Whenever I try to change it for a specific adapter, it instantly "kills" (immediate shutdown) my machine. It happens wether you change it in the GUI or in CLI [synonet --set_mtu eth0 9000]. Whereas pocopico's approach seems to support it. Note that I'm on Proxmox with a DS3622xs+ VM.

Anyone observed similar behavior?

@fbelavenuto I tried the loader 0.3a7 with a baremetal install on HPGen8. Still doesn't work, but I think it could be a different error.

Again I can build the loader and find it at synofinder, go to the webpage where I need to install the DSM. Choose the file and afterwards it won't start counting the percentage, I receive an error: Can't formating the disk. The disk was plain before the test, no partitions on it. After my try there are two partitions on the disk (8Gb+2Gb), but they contain no filesystem.

I added the complete bootlog from the server, maybe you will find the problem.

If I deactivate the Broadcom NIC and use my PCI Intel Nic, the formatting of the disk works fine and I can install DSM

Good morning and sorry for my bad English.

Has anyone tried running ARPL in VirtualBox?

I have tried on two different machines, and in both cases the Virtul box VM closes right after the DSM installation process, when trying to access port 5000 to finish configuring DSM.

I have tested SS3622xs+ and DS920+.

Can you think of how to see what is causing the error and the closure of the MV?

Greetings and thanks.

Good morning.
I answer to myself.

It works perfectly. You have to complete the loader generation process completely.

Greetings and thank you very much.

Using it with Vmware.

3 Virtual  Disks 100GB each (SATA)'

But the disks are not showing up.

Please give more information. The data disks are mapped to SATA 1:0...3?

Try put loader into SATA 0:0 and data disks starting at SATA1:0, go to loader, cmdline menu and add a cmdline name 'DiskIdxMap' with value '1B00'
