Hi all,

I'm trying to setup my VMware with ARPL and i'm always hitting a wall on the loading PAT and installing it after going on my 192.168.10.xxx:5000




I know this is so vague for a question but i've been browsing the past 2 last evenings (Yesterday and today) without finding no trail for a solution.

I'm using VMWare workstation 17 pro
I created a virtual machine with
4gb memory
2 x 2 processors
1 1gb partition for the ARPL image (Sata)
1 x 60gb for the install partition (Sata)
Network adapter is NAT
Display Autodetec

Anyone has a clue of what i'm doing wrong ?

Here's an attempt i did right now.

I don't see nothing standing out in there.

I did add these in .vmx file - i read it on the github issue section (Did an attempt maybe wouldve helped) : 

SataPortMap=18
DiskIdxMap=1000

My attempt now it went to 15% and then it gived the message has of previously it stopped at 8%

I recommend you follow Synology update path first:

 

After reach step 4, you cam migrate to 3622xs+ and 7.2. This will preserve your data and go as save as possible.

IMO something is wrong with HDD configuration

mdadm: No md superblock detected on /dev/sdae1.
no MD_UUID found for /dev/sdae1; try next...
Assemble args: /dev/sdae1
mdadm: no recogniseable superblock on /dev/sdae1
mdadm: /dev/sdae1 has no superblock - assembly aborted
Exit on error [12] No raid status in path /sys/block/md0/md/array_state, go to junior mode..

 

your disk is detected as  the last available disk - ata31 (sdae1).. why is not ata1? if I were you, I would look for the problem here. I never used vmware so i cannot help you with configuration.

I have a problem with the arc rs4021xs+ loader, I have a dell r730xd 16bay with two rear ssds and a perc h730 mini, when I install the arc it tells me that I can only have 8 maximum bays instead of 16, does anyone know how to solve the problem ?
