Hi guys,

I'm currently running tc redpill 0.8.0.3, dsm 7.1.1-42661, I want to migrate to ARPL but am having issues doing so. I have gone through the building loader process but when I reboot I get the errors on the attached file, can anyone help.

This part worries me :

addons.sh called with params modules
Starting eudev daemon
/addons/eudev.sh: line 6: /sbin/udevd: not found
FAIL

Please try the last release with fresh install (re-burn the media with img). I'll investigate the why eudev is missing for some people!!

@fbelavenuto

There are missing files in module eudev v2.9. ( bin udev missing )   https://github.com/fbelavenuto/arpl-addons/releases/download/v2.9/addons.zip

So no module load at boot !

Maybe this commit  :   https://github.com/fbelavenuto/arpl-addons/commit/df12a5549a449538ab1756350e35b33fd94a73f7

No probleme with eudev  v2.8

Thank you, for your very good work!

Thanks for your reply, is there a way to convert them?

Not needed, the r8125 module already exists. For example from apollolake it is here:

https://github.com/fbelavenuto/arpl-modules/blob/main/apollolake-4.4.180/r8125.ko

They exist for other platforms, except for bromolow (DS3615). You don't need to do anything, the module has to be loaded automatically.

I tested the latest alpha 6, but still the link disappears when the loader is started(

Maybe you need to add some driver or fix something in the scripts? Please let me know. The fourth night I can't sleep, I can't switch to DSM 7(

You can add an addon like this example url for maxdisk addon  https://raw.githubusercontent.com/fbelavenuto/arpl-addons/main/maxdisks/manifest.yml

But Modules are already "package" in releases     https://github.com/fbelavenuto/arpl-modules/releases

For example this is the modules  list in pack appollake

Update: not having eth0 working in arpl 4 alpha6 on the destination machine, i cannot create the loader because arpl cannot dowload the required pat files and extractor.

So:

-i created another usb drive with arpl 6 and booted on a second machine

-setup with the desired serial, mac, modules etc... then created the loader so this second usb contains in his cache the necessary files.

They are in arpl3 partition, specifically the dl and extractor directory

-Copied those two missing folders onto the first usb drive

-Booted the no ethernet machine with the first drive and now complete cache folder and it build succesfully the loader

Booting the dsm from arpl initially takes longer (just a few seconds more because arpl cannot get an ip for the aforementioned problem) but then it passes control to the dsm loader that correctly enables the networking.

All is good now

are both nics connected? possible that the mac address created/assigned to mac1 is not the one connected? you may need to edit the config file to add your second nic i think in any case. the bnx/bnx2 modules are part of the rp-ext library so 'should' be added as part of the build but you may need to add manually.

Yep, and the mac is correct. I added the second one just in case and modify the net_if number but still won't assign IP. In any case how should I added them manually? Which would be the repo?
