- Outcome of the update: SUCCESSFUL
- DSM version prior update: DSM 6.2.3 -25426
- Loader version and model: Automated Redpill Loader 0.4 alpha 11  DS920+
- Using custom extra.lzma: NO
- Installation type: BAREMETAL - Asrock J4105

- Additional comments: This was a pretty simple upgrade. Here are some tips

  • After install, the NAS would boot but would seemed to shutdown mid-way automatically. Ping would work, but HTTP would refuse connections. Turned out to be the i915 module. Rebuild the loader with defaults and it worked great.
  • For some reason 1 of 6 disks was detected as eSATA. Changing the physical port the disk was attached to worked
  • Apart from these, it was a simple process. Everything works great. Even have the /dev/dri folder working

- Outcome of the update: SUCCESSFUL
- DSM version prior update: DSM 7.1.0-42661 Update 1
- Loader version and model: TCRP v0.9.2.6 Loader DS3622xs
- Using custom extra.lzma: No
- Installation type: Bare metal - J1900 based industrial ITX motherboard with 12 SATA
- Additional comments:  Upgrade with TCRP bringfriend feature. I would like to use Realtek USB 2.5G dongle and dodo-dk's ACPID. So I install both extensions in 7.1.0-42661, build the loader in manual mode. And then enable the bringfriend feature. Firstly, going into DSM 7.1-42661, then secondly I upgrade to 7.1.1-42962 U1 through GUI. After restarting both extensions work fine and stable in 7.1.1-42962 U1.
The following commands are for your reference, they might not work with your case.

./rploader.sh update
./rploader.sh fullupgrade
./rplaoder.sh satamap
./rploader.sh serialgen DS3622xs+
./rploader.sh identifyusb
./rploader.sh ext broadwellnk-7.1.0-42661 add https://raw.githubusercontent.com/dodo-dk/rp-ext/main/acpid/rpext-index.json
./rploader.sh ext broadwellnk-7.1.0-42661 add https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pocopico/rp-ext/master/r8152/rpext-index.json
./rploader.sh build broadwellnk-7.1.0-42661 manual
./rploader.sh bringfriend
exitcheck.sh reboot

- Outcome of the update: SUCCESSFUL
- DSM version prior update: DSM 7.1-42661 Update 4
- Loader version and model: TCRP v0.9... I think?  Loader DS3622xs+ w/ Broadwellnk-7.1.1-42962 update 1
- Using custom extra.lzma: NO
- Installation type: Baremetal - MSI  MS 7641 V3 w/old AMD CPU, 4GB ram, 3 2TB disks

- Additional comments: Lots of trial and fail on this one.  New loader via ARPL did not work (IP showed in router, by couldn't connect).  New loader from fresh TCRP v0.9 download same result (IP showed, but no connect).  Decided to go back to TCRP v0.8, but couldn't find an img download anywhere.  Found an old v8 img on my pc and created new usb stick with TCRP 8.  Proceded with Flyride's tutorial for install/migration to 7.x via TCRP.... then "./rploader update" appeared to upgrade TCRP to v0.9.  Went step by step through the guide (chose 7.1.1-42962).  Had to edit config.json and change build number to 7.1.1-42962... change SN to the previous build's SN.  Booted and it showed as "Migratable".  Dowloaded 42962 .pat file from Synology download center and installed keeping all data and settings.  Whew!

- Outcome of the update: SUCCESSFUL

- DSM version prior update: DSM 7.0.1-42218 Update 3

- Loader version and model: Tinycore-Redpill v0.9.2.7 (DS3615xs)

- Using custom extra.lzma: No

- Installation type: Baremetal - HP Proliant Microserver N40L

- Additional comments: My previous loader was Tinycore-Redpill 0.4.6 and I initially tried using Automated Redpill Loader 0.5 Alpha 1, but it threw me into an endless booting loop. Nearly having a heartattack thinking my HDDs were wiped/unavaliable, I then tried upgrading to Tinycore-Redpill v0.9.2.7. Luckily that worked.

Outcome of the update: SUCCESSFUL
- DSM version prior update: from DSM 7.1-42661 to  DSM 7.1.1-42962 Update 1 via GUI
- Loader version and model: Automated Redpill Loader 0.5 alpha 1, DS918+
- Using custom extra.lzma: NO
- Installation type: Baremetal (ASUS PRIME B365M with Intel Core i3 8100T)

- Additional comments:

Update from tinycore-redpill. Just flash arpl into usb drive, configuring by ip:7681, then reboot (by reboot button on case, so no any display needed).

Do update progress in DSM before configuring arpl. Because I've ssd cache before, after rebooting you'll got all data missing because ssd cache isn't working.

Don't worry, don't be scared like me. You may found that volume missing so you can't edit libsynonvme.so.1 easily by copying it into volume, try copy to an usb, edit it to match your ssd, paste it to original place and chmod it, reboot. Everything backs to work besides wallpaper and language setting missing.

- Outcome of the update: SUCCESSFUL (after loader update)
- DSM version prior update: DSM 7.1.0-42661
- Loader version and model: Manual Redpill Loader DS2422+
- Using custom extra.lzma: NO
- Installation type: Baremetal ( Intel i3 10th generation on Gigabyte Z590 AC)

- Additional comments:  I did a GUI update and did not update TCRP. I got recovery loop. So I had to update TCRP to 7.1.1-42962 after I did clean command. Redo the user-config.json and add the Realtek 2.5 GBe via R8125 extension. Build for apollolake 7.1.1-42962 then I was able to proceed to DSM7. I got an error with 2FA. I did not know how to reset the box since it is not a synology box. Luckily, I had SSH and I re-enabled the admin account. I was able to set it up then login to DSM7. It took me ton of time to figure all this out. If you are updating. Do yourself a favor and disable 2FA prior to the update. Admin account setup via SSH link
