adra Posted August 9, 2022 Share #1 Posted August 9, 2022 Hi, I just finished the setup of DSM7 on proxmox (TCRP 0.8, DS3622xs+, broadwellnk , 7.1.0-42661) and it works like a charm. There are 2 things I would like to improve now : - number of cpu seen in DSM is incorrect. It shows 6 cpu despite only 2 set in proxmox - fixing the ACPI signals sent by proxmox to shutdown the VM. Any help would be much appreciated - thanks
flyride Posted August 9, 2022 Share #2 Posted August 9, 2022 The output in Control Panel is cosmetic and tied to the underlying platform you chose. This will show you how many threads are actually in use: cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep cores | wc -l
adra Posted August 10, 2022 Author Share #3 Posted August 10, 2022 Thanks Flyride. Anyway to improve the informations about the hardrives ? For testing I passed the serial number when I attached them to the VM, but even after that the serial is NOK in DSM.
Orphée Posted August 10, 2022 Share #4 Posted August 10, 2022 Just now, adra said: Thanks Flyride. Anyway to improve the informations about the hardrives ? For testing I passed the serial number when I attached them to the VM, but even after that the serial is NOK in DSM. with DSM 7.x RP loader, you will never have real harddrive statistics in DSM with virtual machines unless you are using a HBA IT card and passthrough it to the virtual machine. If you are using Proxmox, monitor them from Proxmox GUI...

waveformer Posted May 26, 2023 Share #6 Posted May 26, 2023 Similar clarification need here... I'm running DSM 7.1 on Proxmox VE 7.4 host with i5 8500T processor. The info panel show me the correct numbers of core, but wrong CPU model, and wrong frequency. Is this only cosmetics and do not affect in any way the performance of DSM ? Thanks in advance for any clarifications:
Orphée Posted May 26, 2023 Share #7 Posted May 26, 2023 It does not show your correct numbers of core but DS920+ core numbers. https://kb.synology.com/en-global/DSM/tutorial/What_kind_of_CPU_does_my_NAS_have Subject already discussed/adressed many times.
waveformer Posted May 26, 2023 Share #8 Posted May 26, 2023 thanks for quick reply! Just would be sure that this will not affect the system performance in any way, and It''s only a "cosmetic label" in the control panel. Is that true ? Orphée Posted May 26, 2023 Share #9 Posted May 26, 2023 Just read post #2 of this actual topic... Don't know what to say more than that.
