mene Posted October 5, 2016 #1 Posted October 5, 2016 I have a xpenology NAS and it was working flawlessly for many months. The last month every time I try to restart it, it dos not restarts. If I connect the monitor and keyboard it restarts. I upgrate to latest dsm 5.2-5967.1 and I can not login to Synology account to setup quickconnect. I updated syslinux with serial and mac I found on excel mod file but still nothing. Am I doing anything wrong?
xplain Posted October 6, 2016 #2 Posted October 6, 2016 Which HW do you use for your xpenology NAS? Maybe you can look into its BIOS settings if you find a setting, which prevents your HW from booting unless a keyboard and monitor are attached (possibly the BIOS battery is empty so that the settings have been reset to its defaults).
mene Posted October 7, 2016 Author #3 Posted October 7, 2016 My motherboard is relatively new, it's the Biostar N3150, so I don't think it's a battery issue. Also I have never had any issues booting linux without monitor.
sbv3000 Posted October 8, 2016 #4 Posted October 8, 2016 as a follow up to xplain suggestion - check the bios for 'halt on errors' - there could be sub settings for 'keyboard/mouse/monitor/all/none'
mene Posted October 10, 2016 Author #5 Posted October 10, 2016 I will check the bios and I hope it is a setting there. I will update the post
