b0fh Posted October 5, 2016 Share #2 Posted October 5, 2016 Do you have network discovery turned on for the Windows 10 devices? When you view network, you might see a notification near the address bar. Also, do you have file sharing turned on for the network connection on the windows 10 devices? b0fh Posted October 5, 2016 Share #4 Posted October 5, 2016 I will look when I am home, but that is all I could think of off the top of my head. Good luck!
Hackerjac Posted October 7, 2016 Author Share #5 Posted October 7, 2016 Soon i'm gonna give up, just updated a win 7 pc that was working, but after upgrade to win 10 i have the same problem
b0fh Posted October 7, 2016 Share #6 Posted October 7, 2016 It is probably not unique to Xpenology. Make sure you look for Synology help and even other NAS help. Looking around I found this link that *might* help: hxxps://community.roonlabs.com/t/window ... ology/5755
unmesh Posted October 8, 2016 Share #7 Posted October 8, 2016 I've upgraded 6 PCs to Win10 and haven't run into this. Is File Sharing enabled in the Windows Firewall settings? (As a quick check, you could turn off the Firewall temporarily and see if that restores network file access.)
Hackerjac Posted October 8, 2016 Author Share #8 Posted October 8, 2016 Been there, done that, have tryed more or less what i have been abel to find on the net (alot suffer from the same), but none have helped me, i can ping the servers, i can net view them, i can make mapped network drive using either ip or name another thing i have stumpled over is when i just type net view in a commandpromt i get error
berwhale Posted October 8, 2016 Share #9 Posted October 8, 2016 NET VIEW \\servername failing with Error 53 indicates and error with NetBIOS name resolution, so had a poke about on DSM. If you go to Control Panel/Network/General/Advanced Settings you'll find the option to enable responses to ARP requests (Address Resolution Protocol). Ticking this box enabled me to successfully enumerate the shares on my NAS with a NET VIEW command. However, I still can't browse to it as a Computer in Networks (it does show up under other devices, which takes me to the DSM web interface).
