Peter Suh Posted November 5, 2023 Share #701 Posted November 5, 2023 Thanks you Peter. Currently I am running arpl-i18n-23.9.7.img and it has been running well for a month. So, should I update to the latest? How often should one update? Thanks Unless there are special problems, updates are not recommended.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

In TCRP 0.9.2.6 everything is fine and correct Hi, This mac address issue is still present, even with the latest version (v1.0.0.5). Do you have any idea of what causes this is ? Gronaldo Posted December 18, 2023 Share #711 Posted December 18, 2023 Running TCRP/friend on DS3622xs+ with DSM 7.2.1-69057, I cannot install anu updates. Using automatic update, or via manual uploading update file. Applying an update shows a 1% progress for checking the file, this takes around 2 minutes, then the upgrade stops showing the file is damaged. Any ideas or suggestions? Maybe you are also falling into the same issue. If thats true, then USB boot option is the only available solution. TCRP Friend , JUN mode and ARPL will not work as they are causing KP. Did this issue with the N54L get resolved? I've just tried the latest tcrp on my N54L and "USB" nice works fine but "Friend" does not. Where can I look to see if I get kernel panic? Also, if I cannot use friend, what IS the process for updating? Thanks!

Also, if I cannot use friend, what IS the process for updating? Thanks! N54L is not compatible with the "Friend kernel". A newly compiled "Friend kernel" crashes using an older AMD CPU and build root, leading to a kernel panic. N54L must be used without “Friend”. If you look at my profile, there is a link to the latest version of tcrp-mshell, which succeeds pocopico's tcrp. Please try version 1.0.3.0 in the release on this GitHub link. In it, it automatically detects N54L and induces the build of JOT mode, which blocks the use of FRIEND. In the case of rr, this Jot is called “Direct Boot”. And did you disable C1E in BIOS? Edited May 29 by Peter Suh
Schmill Posted May 30 Share #717 Posted May 30 Thanks Peter, I'll take a look. Yes C1E is disabled. I was trying to work out how to update past 42962 U1. Is read that you can use friend to repatch the system, then rather than let it boot friend do a reboot a bit the "usb" version again. I was actually thinking of looking into doing an N54L version that would always run friend first, then reboot to "usb" rather than booting friend, but if you've already got something else I'll use that. Is it a straight swap from TCRP 10 to tcrp-mshell? TIA
Schmill Posted May 30 Share #718 Posted May 30 So I found the tcrp-mshell, ran it and brought my system back online using that as a loader - nice! So now I am up and running again at 7.1.1 42962 U1, but I am not sure how I am supposed to apply updates past this, or know which updates are acceptable? In addition, if I need to do anything to the loader at some point is there anyway to do it WITHOUT having to be hands-on with the server? I administer a second server for my parents as well, and if I need to have a local keyboard and mouse to update the loader then it means I will need to travel. TIA

TIA In 7.1.1-42962, the maximum value is U6. What is your update goal? Is it the latest version 7.2.1-69057 U5? If so, it is safe to enter the TCRP loader build menu again and rebuild the loader by rebuilding for the corresponding version. It will start from 7.2.1-69057 U0. Several users wanted to update their loader remotely. Let's study a function that allows real-time application by sending an image built locally with a loader to a remote XPE. I don't think it's impossible. It seems possible if the loader image file created by the rebuild is transferred via remote Henology FTP and this file can be placed only on the third partition of the remote USB stick.

But when I run the Synology Assitant, It shows me the IP address, and then I can access the not-installed NAS. 2nd, when I try to upgrade/install from 7.1.1-42962 to any other version, it gives a File Corrupted error in 57%.
