tpick Posted September 26, 2016 #1 Posted September 26, 2016 Hi, This may seem like a silly question but does the feature of backing up to another Synology device stored in a remote location still work if using XPEnology. I have come into the possession of a 1 bay Synology appliance and I was thinking of putting it in a family members house and backing up to it. Cheers, D
sbv3000 Posted September 27, 2016 #2 Posted September 27, 2016 backup 'within DSM version' should work fine, either syno or rsync. I do that between real syno>XPE boxes and xpe>xpe and xpe>real. Backup changed in DSM 6 quite a lot so you might want to put dsm 5 on the real unit just to ensure compatibility, but you can always test of course.
