Peter Suh Posted July 10, 2022 Share #213 Posted July 10, 2022 (edited) @jumkey Today I add the FS2500 model based on v1000. However, everything is fine, but the last part of dynamically mapping the found disk to the dts file is an error. As you can see in the sample, the FS2500 uses a pattern value of mv14xx instead of ahci, phy instead of ata_port. Can you include this new pattern in the dtb patch utility as well? I increased the maximum to 16 and changed it to be available. So, on dtc DS920(4 port)+, DS1621+(6 port) Jun mode, If you use the dynamic dtb mapping feature with the jumkey option, we have implemented it to extend to 16 ports so that automatic mapping is recognized. I bought the following products from aliexpress. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33016481933.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.77174c4dEGhsZZ&gatewayAdapt=glo2kor It will be helpful if you tell me the link where you bought it. In my case, only 4 ports out of the above 6 ports are marked as Marvell chipset. Some users said that the other 2 ports are ASM chipsets. But I couldn't find the exact information. In Linux, it is marked as such, but if a disk is installed in the remaining ports 5 and 6 Ports 3 and 4 do not work. 3, 4, 5, 6 showed the same result as dividing the two ports. I don't know which Synology model you have installed Redpill on, but I'm not sure if that's the correct solution. Consider switching to DS920+ or DS1621+ with DTC support. If you do not use only the HBA card, you may be able to use all 4 ports due to the new port mapping method. I am currently using the none Device Tree model DS3622xs+. The DS918+ redpill-qjs-dtb ext you want is configured in my repo below. However, it is not clear whether DS918+ is a dtc supported model. You can find the model.dtb file in /etc.defaults , but that doesn't mean It doesn't seem to be a device tree support model. You can try it, but it may behave differently than expected. https://github.com/PeterSuh-Q3/redpill-load/blob/master/redpill-qjs-dtb/rpext-index.json And, we do not recommend the Marvell chipset 6 port controller you are referring to on Ali Express. All 6 ports are not working. This is the same place of purchase as the link I mentioned above. Edited July 14, 2022 by Peter Suh

Probably two models made by the same manufacturer, my guess. So it seems that there is a phenomenon similar to the problem I am having. According to IG-88's recommendation, in REDPILL, an expansion card using only ASMEDIA chips seems to be more compatible. The first thing you can try is to switch to the DTC model, but I don't think this method is recommended either. So according to you @Peter Suh and @IG-88 which is the low cost PCI SATA cards which are really compatible at the moment? An additional 6/8 ports would be very welcome. Consider that I'd like to stay on DS918+ model because I have real S/N for it but I might evaluate a change if it's really needed. I tried with DS920+ model both with manual TC static and with your script ./my.sh DS920+J noconfig (manually inserted serial n and mac address, removing sataportmap and diskidmap from User Config). The result is the same: Marvell controller shows only 2 ports out of 4. Any suggestion?

The list of Sata disks seen in junior is Number of physical disks that can be mapped to DTC. You can check it with ll /sys/block . I know that the disks appearing here depend entirely on the ahci driver, but it would be difficult without the improvement of this ahci driver.
