Manually unzip custom.gz to see if there are any missing files

The custum.gz file of 1,386,687 bytes was obtained from the USB stick.
But I can't unzip the file.
Was it created incorrectly during the jun mode build process?

no change.
The phenomenon of not being able to execute exec.sh seems to be the same.

As you said, chmod is modified and reflected on github
This is the result of building using this load again.

When is this patch file used?

The init and jun.patch files are also in an unexecutable chmod state.
Shall we change both files as well?

Try it, the whole process should be clear

Adjust only the init file to be executable with chmod, as shown below
exec.sh was executed normally.
Thank you very much.

Finally, I met a 57% file corruption message during the DSM installation process.
I think boot-wait is interfering, so I'll delete it and try again.

There is no /dev/synoboot partition, you need to confirm the value of pid vid or satadom

Today I add the FS2500 model based on v1000.

However, everything is fine, but the last part of dynamically mapping the found disk to the dts file is an error.

As you can see in the sample, the FS2500 uses a pattern value of mv14xx instead of ahci, phy instead of ata_port.

Can you include this new pattern in the dtb patch utility as well?

Perhaps this file is an out.dts file with only the ahci pattern.

The DS920+ recommended 4 ports
As Dolbycat tested, there is no problem with operation even if you increase it to six.
I increased the maximum to 16 and changed it to be available.

So, on dtc DS920(4 port)+, DS1621+(6 port) Jun mode,

If you use the dynamic dtb mapping feature with the jumkey option, we have implemented it to extend to 16 ports so that automatic mapping is recognized.

"Jumkey.qjs.dtb" ext has been modified a little to force the use of the dtb file for 16 ports.

If you want to use the dts file manually, you can download it by referring to my GitHub.
https://github.com/PeterSuh-Q3/tinycore-redpill

After downloading and installing as shown below,
Build the load again
curl --location "https://github.com/PeterSuh-Q3/tinycore-redpill/raw/main/my.sh.gz" --output my.sh.gz; tar -zxvf my.sh.gz;

./my.sh DS920+J jumkey noclean
./my.sh DS1621+J jumkey noclean

Use the ll command to check if the model.dtb file is in the list
ll /home/tc/redpill-load/custom/extensions/jumkey.qjs.dtb/ds920p_42218
ll /home/tc/redpill-load/custom/extensions/jumkey.qjs.dtb/ds1621p_42218

If you check once again whether the script (spoiler) below looks like the one I modified with the cat command, it will definitely be applied.
cat /home/tc/redpill-load/custom/extensions/jumkey.qjs.dtb/ds920p_42218/install_rd.sh
cat /home/tc/redpill-load/custom/extensions/jumkey.qjs.dtb/ds1621p_42218/install_rd.sh

I've installed up to 14 discs.

6 built-in sata

I used the following product, external 8 ports (Marvel 88SE9215 chip 4 ports + ASM1166 chip 2 ports [unrecognized]) X2.

Hey Peter, I need some help. I'm using Marvell 88se9215 4 x SATA 6Gb/s Host Controller. I can see only 2 ports out of four. Here my results, from post #203 to post #212. Any idea?

yeah... I'm interested as well as I've just bout a Marvell controller with 6 ports and I'm planning to add it to my Xpenology  DS918+ (see my signature). If there is a way to mod jumkey.qjs.dtb file for DS918 in order to correctly see all the ports of Marvell controllers would be very nice!

I am also using a 6 port SATA expansion card from the Marvell chipset similar to yours.
I bought the following products from aliexpress.

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33016481933.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.77174c4dEGhsZZ&gatewayAdapt=glo2kor

It will be helpful if you tell me the link where you bought it.

In my case, only 4 ports out of the above 6 ports are marked as Marvell chipset.
Some users said that the other 2 ports are ASM chipsets.
But I couldn't find the exact information.

In Linux, it is marked as such, but if a disk is installed in the remaining ports 5 and 6
Ports 3 and 4 do not work.

3, 4, 5, 6 showed the same result as dividing the two ports.

I don't know which Synology model you have installed Redpill on, but
I'm not sure if that's the correct solution.
Consider switching to DS920+ or DS1621+ with DTC support.
If you do not use only the HBA card, you may be able to use all 4 ports due to the new port mapping method.

I am currently using the none Device Tree model DS3622xs+.

The DS918+ redpill-qjs-dtb ext you want is configured in my repo below.

However, it is not clear whether DS918+ is a dtc supported model.

You can find the model.dtb file in /etc.defaults , but that doesn't mean

It doesn't seem to be a device tree support model.

You can try it, but it may behave differently than expected.

https://github.com/PeterSuh-Q3/redpill-load/blob/master/redpill-qjs-dtb/rpext-index.json

And, we do not recommend the Marvell chipset 6 port controller you are referring to on Ali Express.
All 6 ports are not working.

This is the same place of purchase as the link I mentioned above.

If you compare the two cards, are the model numbers or part numbers similar?
Probably two models made by the same manufacturer, my guess.
So it seems that there is a phenomenon similar to the problem I am having.

According to IG-88's recommendation, in REDPILL, an expansion card using only ASMEDIA chips seems to be more compatible.

The first thing you can try is to switch to the DTC model, but I don't think this method is recommended either.

So according to you @Peter Suh and @IG-88 which is the low cost PCI SATA cards which are really compatible at the moment? An additional 6/8 ports would be very welcome. Consider that I'd like to stay on DS918+ model because I have real S/N for it but I might evaluate a change if it's really needed.

I tried with DS920+ model both with manual TC static and with your script ./my.sh DS920+J noconfig (manually inserted serial n and mac address, removing sataportmap and diskidmap from User Config). The result is the same: Marvell controller shows only 2 ports out of 4. Any suggestion?

At the moment, there doesn't seem to be a clear answer.
The list of Sata disks seen in junior is
Number of physical disks that can be mapped to DTC.
You can check it with ll /sys/block .
I know that the disks appearing here depend entirely on the ahci driver, but it would be difficult without the improvement of this ahci driver.
