cval93 Posted August 20, 2016 Share #1 Posted August 20, 2016 Hi everyone, I have recently installed my NAS. (HP MicroSevrer Gen8 with last version of Xpenology). When I am transferring files to my NAS, my laptop freezes. I tried with another laptop and it worked. Anyone already encountered this problem? berwhale Posted August 21, 2016 Share #2 Posted August 21, 2016 Try setting the Max protocol for Windows file sharing to SMB2 - You'll find it under Control Panel/File Services/Advanced Settings
sandisxxx Posted August 21, 2016 Share #3 Posted August 21, 2016 Hi everyone, I have recently installed my NAS. (HP MicroSevrer Gen8 with last version of Xpenology). When I am transferring files to my NAS, my laptop freezes. I tried with another laptop and it worked. Anyone already encountered this problem? IMHO it has nothing to do with the NAS, I'd say the laptop has either faulty RAM or other hardware issue, I'd recommend to check the RAM with memtest+ or other software. It's possible that the laptop works just fine in all other applications and operations, but freezes by this particular one. I had few times faulty RAM or Mainboard(capaticors faulty)that caused the computer to freeze in very particular operations like this.
