Hi ..
i'am trying install my HP Microserver Gen 10 which ran before wirh DSM 6.1.3 with the redPill Loader...

but i stuck at teh first step...

i boot from the internal USB-Port as well as i did with DSM

but first came error messages, that VGA and VESA Files could not be found, then the menu comes up in normal size...with just one entry

if i try to build the loader the the script couldn't find the kernel file

after "Loading Linux...."

ERROR disk "hd0 ' msdos" not found

..........

where can i change it or change the script to find it at the correct place...

Thank you

Hi, trying this method, however I run into an issue after this loads to install DSM all of a sudden the screen goes blank and ping connectivity is lost to the hardware.

Could this be related to i915 driver?

Dear Guys,

I'm totally confused, but I hope, I can find help:

System: Asus Q370M-C + Intel 9100, bare metal

DS3622XS+ with 7.1.1-42962

The system ran over a half year.
50 days ago I had problems with booting. After little bit BIOS-Playing with UEFI and Legacy the 5th time the USB-Stick show me his boot-menu and I choose the right one. It starts and work until today.

Today I must reboot my Xpenology-NAS and now, I can't boot anymore!

BIOS reset etc. doesn't work (UEFI adjustment).

I put the stick in another PC and after booting, the message was:

error: symbol "grub_disk_native_sectors" not found

Entering rescue mode...

grub rescue> _

What can I do? Can I repair the stick or should I creat a new one?

I want only my NAS back....

Thanks a lot!

Best Regards!

Guys, me again!

Solution:

I took an older stick (proofed by an older DSM 6.2 station) and made this on a separate Windows-PC (only booting in UEFI-Mode):

https://github.com/PeterSuh-Q3/tinycore-redpill/blob/main/README.md

I choose always the old system parameters! Means: DSM-Version, MAC, SN etc.

But I did not changed/modified the VID and PID from the new USB-Stick.

After preparation of the new loader, i put the stick in the NAS.

The System/Stick installed itself and after few seconds: it works!

I logged on the NAS with the known Syno-surface. I checked all my folders and links from other devices to the NAS!

GREAT!

Holy $hit! Thanks a lot to @Peter Suh !!!
