Hmm, I am using a 16GB and a 8GB stick but get this error also :

!] Failed to copy /home/tc/redpill-load/build/1652617579/rd-patched-ds3615xs_42218.gz to /home/tc/redpill-load/build/1652617579/img-mnt/part-1/rd.gz

/usr/local/bin/cp: error writing '/home/tc/redpill-load/build/1652617579/img-mnt/part-1/rd.gz': No space left on device

*** Process will exit ***

Any clues what I am doing wrong? Used RedPil on ESXi 7.0.2 and that worked fine.
Am now trying to get this installed on my HPE Microserver Gen8 but cant get past this issue.

sadly extending disks etc. does not work. I can see that sd3 has loads of space left.  Seems to be /dev/loop52p1 that is full. not sure how to work around this.

I have the same problem. It worked 2 days ago, yesterday it didn't. Same USB stick and computer. Other sticks don't work either.

@pocopico recommends using 2GB or more if your PC's RAM size is too small.
However, even if the RAM size is larger than this, there are users who have not resolved this issue, so it seems to be necessary to look into it more.

i've got 8gb of RAM in the PC i'm attempting to install on at the moment and still have this issue

I also looked at the capture you attached in the issue pointed out by @ferno.
I'm also starting an error-prone test by reducing the RAM size.

will be interesting to hear what it turns out being,  i just double checked my ram was actually working, as maybe it had become unseated or something, but defs 8gb, 8193000kB reported by memtotal

i've got the same or similar issue.  no matter what i do i always get failed to copy - no space left on the device, after it downloads a 339mb file, and verifies it

Hi Willba4 I noticed you reported this with all the info, thanks for that!

My Machine is  a HPE Micro server Gen8 with a Xeon E3 and 16GB ecc ram. Cant be a shortage of ram.

Did you check like this too?

tc@box:~$ cat /proc/meminfo |grep -i total
MemTotal:        1016836 kB
SwapTotal:        244708 kB
VmallocTotal:   34359738367 kB
tc@box:~$

I increased the memory of the VM to 8GB and tried the trigger test again.
The method I tested filled the /mnt/sda3/auxfiles folder where the pat file was continuously downloaded with 100% FULL.
If you do not delete this folder frequently, it may become full of pat files.
Up to two are possible, and the moment the third is received, 100% is full and the pat file is cut.
Can you show the usable capacity of the usb stick with dh -f ?

The test seems wrong.
It seems that the loop52p1 directory is already 100% full.
It seems that it will be an accurate test after deleting this again.
However, as reported in the issue, the phenomenon that the message is not cleared by busy message is repeated.

Reboot and configure the same environment
Before building, first check the capacity and the existence of the redpill-load directory.
As a result, the capacity shortage was repeated as above.

Yep, had found this out also, forgot to mention. Been at it for hours en always the same result. If you try the last step (build) without reboot it looks like it finishes but it does not create the correct boot entry's etc. so you can only boot into redpill again and start over. With the same results.

If you have a motherboard that supports Hot Plug or Hot Swap, please turn on the above option.

Please provide the user_config.json information used and the number of physical disks used.

Yes, I've just turned it on. Does this feature need to be turned on before loader build or can be enabled after loader built?

This is a test system so I just plug in only 1 physical disk in to SATA port 1.

Below is my user_config.json.

tc@box:~$ cat user_config.json
{
  "extra_cmdline": {
    "pid": "0x1666",
    "vid": "0x0951",
    "sn": "1860PDN017381",
    "mac1": "001132B94EEB",
    "SataPortMap": "1",
    "DiskIdxMap": "00"
  },
  "synoinfo": {
    "internalportcfg": "0xffff",
    "maxdisks": "16",
    "support_bde_internal_10g": "no",
    "support_disk_compatibility": "no",
    "support_memory_compatibility": "no"
  },
  "ramdisk_copy": {}
}

Issue seems to be gone, script was updated 2 hours ago and now it seems to build without the space issue.
