HP N40L failed wanting to transfer to a HP Gen 8 microserver


Question

Helllo everyone.

 

I currenlty have a HP N40L and either the motherboard or the PSU has failed, i have been gifted a HP Gen 8 microserver toicontinue of with ahd have a few questions.

 

Am i able to remove my USB thumb drive from my N40L and put into the Gen 8 along witth my 4 x 3tb hard drives (in the correct order) and boot from there ? or do ihave ot go through the whole rebuilt process?

Yes, you should be able to continue. Maybe you would need to recreate the disks in smartarray as JBOD disks and then you should be fine.
