eleazar Posted June 13, 2016 Share #6 Posted June 13, 2016 Thanks for this! I gave it a try and edited my syslinux.cfg and rebooted the synology. When I go to control panel and attempt to login to my synology account so I can activate quickconnect, it says "Network error occurred. Please check your DNS and network settings". Anybody else have this issue? I verified that the generated serial number is showing up and the mac address is showing as well, when I go to the Info Center and view them. AllGamer Posted June 13, 2016 Share #7 Posted June 13, 2016 nope, it worked for me just fine. I already had an existing account with Synology so I logged in with my existing account. I tried to use the same quickconnect ID i assigned to a real Synology box and it allowed me to transfer it to the XPEnology box after rebooting the machine with the syslinux.cfg change

Go here and create an account first: https://account.synology.com/ Try to register the serial number generated to check if it works. If it works, you may have a wrong internal redirection with your nas.

Polanskiman Posted May 24, 2017 Share #10 Posted May 24, 2017 Yet another topic I missed. The use of Quickconnect is an abuse of Synology's services and servers. Setup a custom DDNS, configure it in DSM, configure your firewall and you will have the same thing as Quickconnect. I am closing this topic.
