GodAtum Posted June 5, 2016 #1 Posted June 5, 2016 Hi all, I could not find any up-to-date info on wether this is supported. I have 4 drives plugged in but not displaying in the GUI. My version is DSM 5.2-5644 Update 5.
sbv3000 Posted June 5, 2016 #2 Posted June 5, 2016 I think this should be supported by the 'mvsas' module. Is this an add-on card or embedded mobo controller? Do you see the drives detected in the bios? If its add on you could try; disabling mobo onboard sata ports make sure the marvel bios is set to jbod if its embedded, try setting the raid to jbod/non raid and sata mode to ide not ahci
GodAtum Posted June 5, 2016 Author #3 Posted June 5, 2016 I changed the motherboard option to IDE, instead of achi. The 4 drives are shown in the BIOS. But it does not show up in the Storage manager. I enabled passthrough in ESXI for my marvel controller and attached it to the VM.
berwhale Posted June 6, 2016 #4 Posted June 6, 2016 FWIW - I have a 4 port 88SE9215 based card passed through using DirectIO and it's working just fine. I didn't have to change any BIOS settings on the host or the VM, DSM recognized the disks straight away.
