mattvirus Posted May 24, 2016 #1 Posted May 24, 2016 Hello All - From reading the documentation, it looks like the SAT2-MV8 (Marvell 88SX6081-BCZ1 chipset) -- 8-port SATA PCI-x adapter -- should be supported, but multiple machines hang during the initial boot with the card installed. Swap it out for a 9211 or other LSI card, and it's good to go.... Problem is several of my machines only have PCI-X slots and no PCI-E, so i need these 88sx6081 cards to get things rolling Card Info: http://www.supermicro.com/products/acce ... T2-MV8.cfm Is there a bug? Maybe I'm doing something wrong with inits? Thanks!
AllGamer Posted May 24, 2016 #2 Posted May 24, 2016 sounds more like the driver / module is not included and since you say PCI-X you're probably running NanoBoot x86, which has a lot less drivers support than XPEnology boot x64
Kanedo Posted May 24, 2016 #3 Posted May 24, 2016 I have this exact card. It worked with Nanoboot 5.1 via a kernel option. However, I cannot get it to work with XPEnoboot 5.2 at all. You'll be easier off just forking up the cash for a LSI SAS2 card.

Maybe I'll look for some cheap riser cards or something. In my testing, it will boot up properly after a considerable hang at the XPenoboot display...but then the dmesg output is littered with ATA errors and the drives aren't visible.
