Lord Nemesis Posted April 30, 2016 #1 Posted April 30, 2016 Planning to build a NAS setup around Pentium G4400. Does XPEnology yet support the Intel 219V and Realtek 8111H LAN found on most Skylake motherboards? Also, I am assuming that the Asmedia 1061 based SATA expansion cards are supported (for SATA3 HDD) based on the compatibility list. Quote
dyce Posted May 1, 2016 #2 Posted May 1, 2016 why not virtualize? G4400 supports VT-d so you can passthrough a sata controller. Quote
TBK Posted May 1, 2016 #3 Posted May 1, 2016 What is wrong with running bare-metal? Nemesis can always install the Virtualbox package afterwards if he needs to run VMs or a better solution just use Docker. Quote
Lord Nemesis Posted May 1, 2016 Author #4 Posted May 1, 2016 If I install on bare metal, is it going to support the LAN controllers used on these boards. Quote
mdj156 Posted May 3, 2016 #5 Posted May 3, 2016 From what I read, it should be fine. I ordered a new MSI mobo with B150 chipset and the same CPU, I'll let you know if it is working. Quote
