DSM 5.2-5967 out now - safe to install?

Recommended Posts

Is anyone else having issues logging into phpVirtualBox after the update? I can get to web browser login page but cannot log in. I'm getting the following issue:

Exception Object
(
   [message:protected] => Could not connect to host (http://127.0.0.1:18083)
   [string:Exception:private] =>
   [code:protected] => 64
   [file:protected] => /volume1/web/phpvirtualbox/endpoints/api.php
   [line:protected] => 134
   [trace:Exception:private] => Array
       (
       )

   [previous:Exception:private] =>
)

I'm currently running:

DSM 5.2-5967

XPEnoboot 5.2-5644.5

phpVirtualBox 5.0.16-105871-3

Just uninstall and re-install it, i found opt/ folder was deleted after the upgrade

Another thing to note, can anyone select Control Panel > Hardware & Power > Enable UPS support

same problem here...

I get a UPS Connected Notification very time I boot my NAS up, but I'm unable to enable it anymore in the Hardware & Power settings :???:

Also...

I can no longer select fan speed in the fan speed mode options

Don't use UPS, but I have the same problem on a ProLiant Gen8 - baremetal. I cannot change any settings in this menu

Yes, all my settings within Hardware & Power are gone. It's possible to create a new energy timetable but can't enter any settings within hibernatemode of the harddrives. Everytime I want to enter a setting it changes automatically to the USV option and says that I have to enter something. What the hell has hibernatemode of the hdd's to do with USV....

I think there's an update of the bootloader necessary..

POWER & UPS are working on DSM 5.2-5644.5

To downgrade the version, you have to change this file:

- etc.defaults/VERSION (i use winscp over 22 PORT)

- put this lines in to it

majorversion="5"

minorversion="0"

buildphase="hotfix"

buildnumber="4482"

smallfixnumber="0"

builddate="2014/04/18"

- save it & exit

- go to DSM & reinstall the latest ver. with 5.2-5644.5

Doesn't work for me, Says ( The update you are applying is not compatible with this version of DSM please get the compatible file and try again )

I got it finally, I had to install the full 5.2-5644 then apply Update 5

If anyone is updating and has a non standard disk synoinfo config (more than 12) then you will need to edit the file to put the hex values back. My 16 disk unit volume crashed because of this but once I changed the file it came back ok (after a disk check)

Makes sense, the file you edit is in /etc.defaults which get overwritten every update.

Update 1 is out: https://www.synology.com/en-uk/releaseNote/DS3615xs

Anyone tried installing it?

Had success updating to 5.2-5967 so figured I would try. Package took about 3 minutes to fully install, no reboot required. All previously started services restarted successfully and am able to access through my DDNS. So far so good, will post a reply should I find anything wonky during testing.

Also: I do not use backup so can't comment as to if it's still not working like others have mentioned.
