walt Posted February 6, 2022 #1 Posted February 6, 2022 Hi: I was using Jun's Loader v1.04 to install DSM 6.2.3-25426(DS918+) on my physical PC successfully. Here is my PC's equipment: i7-7700, GA-Z270X-Gaming K5, INTEL 82575's NIC, SATA SSD, Intel760p NVMe M.2 SSD I installed the DSM to SATA SSD on the 2nd SATA slot. I'd like to accelerate I/O speed via NVMe's SSD being system cache, but the NVMe SSD is not appeared on Storage Manager, as following figure: I was trying to get some message on the SSH terminal. walt@walt:/$ lspci -v 0000:01:00.0 Class 0108: Device 8086:f1a5 (rev 03) (prog-if 02) Subsystem: Device 8086:390a Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 16 Memory at efa00000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16K] Capabilities: <access denied> Kernel driver in use: nvme walt@walt:/$ ls /dev/nvme0* /dev/nvme0 /dev/nvme0n1 /dev/nvme0n1p1 /dev/nvme0n1p2 /dev/nvme0n1p3 It seems that the Linux Kernel can detect the NVMe SSD device, but Storage Manager of DSM cannot. Do I miss something? Thanks in advanced. Quote

Do I miss something? you need to patch dsm to use nvme with xpenology and you would need to look under "ssd cache" not "hdd/ssd" https://xpenology.com/forum/topic/13342-nvme-cache-support/page/3/ nvme is only supported as cache drive, a normal (sata) ssd could work as cache or data volume Quote

Thanks. Quote
