I also read the post and I was "Really????" I remember that on my QEMU KVM I spent hours searching google if it's possible to access a virtual serial port. I was almost at to a point that I was going to buy a PCI-E card with serial port and pass it through... but finally searching solved the mystery and there is command to do that...
