mazedk Posted March 27, 2016 #1 Posted March 27, 2016 hi So, i bought two new licenses for my extra cameras. Trying to activate them in 7.2 but.. no luck. Just getting a "connection failed. please checking your network settings" Would it be wrong guessing that this is due to my serialnumber not matching that of my device model etc? any takes on that?
NeoID Posted March 27, 2016 #2 Posted March 27, 2016 As far as I know you'll need a valid serial/mac pair in order to get that to work. If you need a guide, you can take a look at mine here: https://idmedia.no/projects/xpenology/i ... -or-later/
mazedk Posted March 28, 2016 Author #3 Posted March 28, 2016 Thanks Neo But.. getting a valid serial/mac pair onto my xpenology.. that will most likely be a though one.. right?
NeoID Posted March 28, 2016 #4 Posted March 28, 2016 Should be pretty easy. Just create a new boot image with a valid serial and mac and swap out the old one. That should do the trick.
brantje Posted March 28, 2016 #5 Posted March 28, 2016 Generating a valid serial and mac is very easy: https://xpenology.us/tutorials/miscellaneous/generate-valid-serial-and-mac Posted via Xpenology.us
mazedk Posted March 28, 2016 Author #6 Posted March 28, 2016 Thanks - found the page and went to try it Didnt seem to work for some reason, edited the volumeUSB1 syslinux.cfg and did a reboot afterwards. Still the same MAC and S/N
pmcnano Posted March 28, 2016 #7 Posted March 28, 2016 @NeoID If I have MyDS working then I have valid serial/mac pair, doesn't it? I have MyDS working and still I was unable to activate my camera's license. @mazedk install an earlier version of Surveillance Station (7.0 as far as I remember) activate your license, then update normally through package station. You should be fine.
