Jauja Posted March 24, 2016 Share #1 Posted March 24, 2016 Hi everyone! My printer has broken so I need a new one, do you know if it is better to buy one with Ethernet and connect it to a lan switch or a printer with an USB connected to the nas? I'd like it not to be connected and shared with a computer but it could be ok if it's connected to the nas, if it is printing server aswell. I'd like to print from three different computers but I wouldn't like to have one of them always on. Do you know if is there any model that could wake on a printing demand? Thank you. abced Posted March 24, 2016 Share #2 Posted March 24, 2016 Or get a WIFI printer, so you can put it anywhere and print via network.
Jauja Posted March 24, 2016 Author Share #3 Posted March 24, 2016 It's something I've also seen so it could be ok, it's not neccesary needed to be connected to the nas, thank you
TBK Posted March 24, 2016 Share #4 Posted March 24, 2016 Most laser printers are network capable (ethernet - RJ45 connection) and have a sleep feature (standby).
