Mojaaa Posted March 24, 2016 #3 Posted March 24, 2016 The best part seems to be support for 64bit intel processors. Quote

bagheera Posted March 24, 2016 #9 Posted March 24, 2016 I've just had the notification that Version: 6.0-7321 is available to download. Waiting until it's safe to upgrade. Quote
doobie Posted March 24, 2016 #10 Posted March 24, 2016 Hi Just to let you know i updated my HP N54L via the online update, DSM 6 is working fine.....BUT....... I had to do a full install losing my config....AND the disk drive will not create a volume on it!!!! so don't do it if you want to keep your system. Fortunatly this is only a backup of my official box so i just need to roll back the usb key and get it back!!! Was worth a try. Quote
brantje Posted March 24, 2016 #11 Posted March 24, 2016 Doobie, how did you get past the wizard? Posted via Xpenology.us Quote
lapja Posted March 24, 2016 #12 Posted March 24, 2016 I accidentally updated one server (only a backup one he he!) vio online update. It is a HP N54L. Can't seem to get pas the wizard though. Quote
Threska960 Posted March 24, 2016 #13 Posted March 24, 2016 If it will not allow the creation of a volume then it's useless? If it doesn't find one and allows creation of one, then that's a different matter. Quote
radikaled Posted March 24, 2016 #14 Posted March 24, 2016 I'm going to assume that we'll definitely need a new boot image before even considering to update. Whole new kernel...whole new set of issues... Cheers, Quote
CtrlAltDel Posted March 24, 2016 #15 Posted March 24, 2016 There will probably be a round of minor updates following the launch. It would be a bit premature of the dev team if they release dsm 6 too soon. Synology will simply screw with things to prevent the release from working after a minor patch. The dev's will already have builds working on their own machines. We are better off being patient and wait for a reliable long term stable release imho. DSM 6 is a really nice upgrade, with some very cool functionality, which I would really like to have on my custom boxes, but not at the expense of stability. Quote

Misant Posted March 25, 2016 #19 Posted March 25, 2016 Hello, Thanks for the link, I will try this when I get back from work. Quote
cstout Posted March 25, 2016 #21 Posted March 25, 2016 Does not work!!! Update can not be! Nobody said it works...you need to wait for an updated XPE boot loader. Posted via Xpenology.us Quote
andyxm715 Posted March 25, 2016 #22 Posted March 25, 2016 Does not work!!! Update can not be! since you need a new version of XPEnoboot with most big-ish updates say from 5.1 to 5.2 never mind going from 5.2 to 6.0 you might want to learn how to setup the update options - Hint: choose important updates only - check for important and security updates only, while retaining the current version of DSM Quote
Razor237 Posted March 25, 2016 #23 Posted March 25, 2016 Gotta always remember the golden rule of any custom firmware's / software is never ever take updates unless your absolutely sure its safe. patience is key Quote
ingen300 Posted March 26, 2016 #25 Posted March 26, 2016 If you are using DSM 5.2-5644.5 to update the DSM 6.0. Make sure backup your file to external HDD. Quick Connect can't use will prompt the system failed to perform the requested operation, there is an unknown error. 3.Cannot format the HDD or SCSI or Hot Spare For more information downgrade DSM 6.0-7321 to DSM 5.2-5644 viewtopic.php?f=2&t=13288#p58777 Quote
