Missing 1TB after replacing a disk?

Hello here!

I have a small problem after replacing a disk.

Until a few days ago I had 3 hard drives 1Tb and 2 Tb in my xpenology. (My goal is to replace all my disk with a 4TB)

So 5TB in SHR configuration.

2 days ago I take a 1TB disk and replace it with a 4TB.

At first startup I had a parity test (normal) and after that start the extend of the volume.

Unfortunately it seems that it has a crash in the night. On morning I'm not able to connect my Syno http or ssh ... no other way than to "hard" restart. Therefore necessarily at startup I had a control parity. This thing is over. (Besides, if there is a place where I can check the logs? Nothing in the system events, to check what's happen during the night ?)

Once everything is finished, I only see 5TB total storage. Instead of 6TB according to the Syno calculator.

Strange, in the storage manager I see a capacity 4.46To and if I run a cleaning data, it indicates a capacity of 5.44To ...

So, I miss 1TB!

An idea to get them back?

Thank you!

If some has an idea, here is a sfdisk -l

Hello DraGula,

A few weeks ago, I replaced my two 500G disk mirroring with two 2T.

I followed the tutorial Synology ...

- Stop the NAS

- Replace the first disk, and switch on the Syno.

- Rebuild Raid1.

- And the same think for the second disk.

Once both drives in place, operational Raid ... I was always 500G volume !

It took me, at the disk management to a "expand" or a similar trick to extend the volume. Another few hours of operation. I benefit from the 2T disk mirroring ... Can be in SHR is the same thing ....

Now, given the time necessary to the operation, the next time I go directly to the creation and restoration of Raid ...

Cordially.

MsX
