TM237 Posted March 15, 2016 #1 Posted March 15, 2016 On my current XPEnology build running on my server; Xeon E3-1220v2 8GB DDR3 ECC / U 12x 500GB SATA III 7,200RPM LSI MR 9266-4i *Disks are passed through as individual RAID0 arrays as the card doesn't support JBOD. It sees disk 7,8,9,10,11,12 but doesn't see anything other than that. Any help would be appreciated.
Benoire Posted March 15, 2016 #2 Posted March 15, 2016 Does your motherboard have six sata slots? If so, its likely assigned bays 1-6 for sata and hten the LSI card is kicking on from 7 onwards and after 12 you have to configure the system to show the additional bays. Best bet is to go in to the bios and disable the onboard sata if its still enabled and then report back.
TM237 Posted March 16, 2016 Author #3 Posted March 16, 2016 It does have 6 ports, but the problem is, in the BIOS I only have options to switch it to IDE, RAID or AHCI. There's pretty much no way to disable them. Is there anyway I could get XPenology to stop looking at the board and look at the RAID Card instead?
Benoire Posted March 16, 2016 #4 Posted March 16, 2016 You might be able to get XP to unload the sata drivers, but I can't help you there... Trantor could help you if you do a message to him. What's the motherboard?
TM237 Posted March 16, 2016 Author #5 Posted March 16, 2016 I was able to fix it with a few config edits. If anyone needs the steps give me a few minutes and I'll post them.
Benoire Posted March 16, 2016 #6 Posted March 16, 2016 It might help others if you post the motherboard details as at the moment no one can really tell if they've got the same problem as you
